This is one of the most compete museums for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the island’s history from ethnography to palaeontology and archaeology. The different thematic salons contain exhibits of maps and illustrations of the island’s conquest during the 15th century, human remains of the Mahos (aboriginals) as well as a re-creation of the magic-religious world that they worshipped, and much more.

The Museum is the ideal place to journey to their past: fruit of many centuries of history, advances, evolution, wars, hunger and above all, the triumph of a culture that has survived attacks by pirates and corsairs, demonstrating the fighting spirit of the people.
