BARLOVENTO Top

This beach and that of Cofete share the lengthy 14 km. coast known as Cofete on the western side of the Jandía peninsula. A rock known as “Islote” (islet) separates the two, which becomes isolated during high tide.

This beach of fine golden sand is situated in a remote and pristine area.

Bathing here is dangerous with tides that drag out to sea. The best bathing area can be found beside “Islote” where a small cove has been formed. The beach remains isolated throughout the year.

BUTIHONDO Top

Butihondo beach is two kilometres long and has an average width of 45 m. Situated between the mouth of the Butihondo and Esquinzo ravines, in Jandía, it offers fine golden sand and crystalline turquoise waters.

Windy beach with calm waters and fine golden sand situated in a semi-urban area; it is great for nude bathing.

Nearby the recreational port of Morro Jable.

Cofete beach is 13.700 m. long and has an average width of 60 m., but Cofete beach doesn't occupy all this space since the Jandía peninsula divides the beach in two.

A rock known as “Islote” (islet) separates the Cofete and Barlovento´s beaches, which becomes isolated during high tide. The best bathing area can be found beside “Islote” where a small cove has been formed. There is a spectacular monolith known as Roque del Moro (Moro Rock) at the extreme south of the beach that is highly appreciated by rod fishermen.

It is a remote and pristine area and one of the island's nudist beaches. Windy beach with strong waves and fine golden sand. Only on calm days does one dare to take a dip but never venturing far from shore. The closest services are in the recreational port of Morro Jable.

COSTA CALMA Top

The coast of Costa Calma forms a wide bay which runs from the Molinillos point to the Risco del Gato development where the cliffs offer attractive sea beds for diving.

An extensive beach makes up the middle. It is 2 km. long and has an average width of 300 m.

It has sunshades and hammocks, rent a boat, sport area and playground. It has lifeguard and security equipment.

Sotavento beach, in Jandía, is 5 km. long and has an average width of 1 km. Two imposing parallel dunes of fine golden sand run toward the sea, dividing this beach into three sections.

To the south of the first dune there is a 200 m. beach that ends at a small drop. The central section consists of a beach bracketed by both dunes. Beyond the second dune, another large expanse of sand makes up the Sotavento beach where large pools are formed as the sea comes on shore creating an environment of great natural beauty.

Windy beach with calm waters; it is one of the island's nudist beaches. It offer good conditions for windsurfing. Accessible by guagua (bus).

Tierra Dorada is demarcated by small cliffs that reach the shore where shallow pools perforate the sandy flats.
